Mission Statement
The New Jersey LGBT Chamber of Commerce advances the business interests of LGBT and allied professionals in the tri-state area. We promote the economic growth and development of our members by providing resources and opportunities for education, networking, and community engagement.
Who We Are
Since 2013, the New Jersey LGBT Chamber of Commerce has been the premier LGBT and allied business organization committed to facilitating successful business collaboration and increasing the economic staying-power of its diverse membership. We are an inclusive platform for business visionaries and the first stop for LGBT and allied entrepreneurs seeking to grow and access opportunities and resources.
What We Do
Certification: We promote the certification of LGBT-owned businesses into “LGBT Business Enterprises® (LGBT-BEs®)”. Certification is vital in providing more equitable access to the procurement streams of corporations, state and public agencies, and educational institutions.
Education: We develop webinars, workshops, networking events, and forums to aid all professionals in increasing their knowledge and business acumen.
Networking: We create business and social networking events so our members can meet one another and create valuable relationships.
Corporate Outreach: We seek to build relationships with corporations in our state by making them aware of local, certified small businesses and by engaging their LGBT employee resource groups and diversity officers. We actively promote and participate in corporate events focused on small business procurement, diversity, and inclusion.
Government Outreach: We regularly engage public and state agencies, elected officials, and those seeking public office, to place a focus on the LGBT business community as a unique constituency. We often invite government officials to our events, not just as attendees, but as speakers to address policies, programs, and legislation that directly affect the small business community.
Student Outreach: We partner with colleges and universities by engaging their LGBT student groups and career offices, offering internships, volunteer opportunities, and information sharing. Our goal is to prepare LGBT students entering the business world as out professionals by helping them establish early connections in the LGBT business community.
